True dragons are the pinnacle of the draconic species that inhabit Threa. Aezkian calls true dragons "kul" and uses this term as a suffix for their species names.

Each of kul possesses an intelligence on or around the level of a humanoid. Some species are dimwitted compared to the average drakling, while others are of even greater intelligence. None are mere beasts. They are all capable of learning a language, though not all normally learn one. Quite a few true draconic species rely merely on bestial sounds.

All true dragons are also superior magical creatures. They are among the most powerful mages Threa has. Magic comes to them naturally, thanks to an evolution receptive for and heavily affected by the ethereal powers of the world.

Although kul are all in the same category of dragons, separated from that of the lesser dragons, they are still very varied. One species of kul differs starkly from the next. While trezkul are ambush predators of the dense Four-Faced Forests that live simple lives, the blazkul seek out and strike their prey from the skies of the Searing Desert, and the dragons of the sands rule entire clans and empires, even wage elaborate wars. Sozkul just laze in the sun or chase fish for food, but aezkul build mountain fortresses, write tales and document history, and produce music that echoes throughout their tall cities. Rizkul males are almost mere beasts, but their females are intelligent. Both are worshiped as divine entities by the rizlin. There is more, but this is best discovered on the pages of the respective dragons and cultures.
