Lesser dragon is the term applied to all species that are draconic, but that do not fulfill all requirements to be considered a true dragons. The deciding difference is the degree of intelligence.

Unlike the true dragons – the kul – lesser dragons are not sapient; they lack humanoid-level intelligence. They are beasts, and they behave accordingly. Full comprehension of language is outside of their grasp, and so is creating any form of society, culture, or civilization. Many species of lesser dragons can learn to understand commands in the same way a dagger-toothed leaper can, and a special few are even capable of mimicking sounds and using them within an understood context like a parrot does, but this is the greatest extend of their intellect.

A lesser dragon species may be superiorly magical, inferiorly magical, or even non-magical. This varies from species to species, unlike true dragons, of which all species are superior magical ones. Those who are magical use zizik instinctively and naturally.
